The Schriemer Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with proteomics and mass spectrometry at the core of their expertise to help advance our structural proteomics program. This is an ideal opportunity for a chemist or biochemist who enjoys rigorous experimental work, strong method development, and working at the interface of chemistry, biology, and MS.
The successful candidate will play a central role in developing and applying crosslinking MS and HDX-MS workflows to study protein structure, interactions, and conformational dynamics in biologically relevant systems. The work will be embedded in a highly collaborative environment with active projects in immunology and neurobiology, where structural proteomics will help define molecular mechanisms and support ongoing discovery efforts.
Key responsibilities
Advance and optimize crosslinking MS and HDX-MS workflows
Design, execute, and interpret structural proteomics experiments
Analyze MS data using appropriate proteomics and structural biology software tools
Contribute to experimental planning, troubleshooting, and method refinement
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in immunology and neurobiology
Requirements
PhD in chemistry, biochemistry
Strong, demonstrated expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics
Hands-on experience with crosslinking MS, HDX-MS, or closely related structural proteomics methods
Proficiency with proteomics data analysis and associated bioinformatics tools/packages
Strong laboratory skills, creativity, diligence, and a problem-solving mindset
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
